Salmon Derby's

The first Salmon derby took place in 1931 and was sponsored by Ben Paris. It grew 

into a very large and popular event.  Five brand new automobiles were given away as 

the top prizes and it was even broadcast nationally on NBC radio.  This derby was

responsible for the birth of a host of other derby's throughout the northwest.
