The
Northwest Sportsman Shows as far as I have been able to find out,
started in 1920. I do not have any information on that show at this
time.
I do have an article on the second annual show as covered by the Fishing
Magazine "American Angler" in their July 1921 issue. I do not
have any information on how big the first Show was but the article
states the second one had a bigger turn out with 41,500 visitors passing
through the doors.
The
next Northwest Sportsman Show that I will cover will be the 1935 Show.
This show
was held in the Civic Auditorium who's name was changed to the Food
Circus during the 1962 Worlds Fair and is still standing to this
day. This is also the location where I attended my first
Sportsman's show in the late 1950's. This wonderful scan was provided by
Doug Cooper of the Snohomish Sportsmen's Club.
The
last
Northwest Sportsman Show that I will cover will be the 1936 Show.
This would be the 16th annual show and had grown to an outdoor facility
and went for ten days according to the Shows program.
This program will be displayed in it's entirety. If you have any old
programs for Northwest held Sportsman's Shows, I would appreciate it if
you would please contact me.
